What is the site?

The Anniston PCB site is in north-central Alabama, located in Calhoun and Talladega counties.

The site includes the Eastman plant site where polychlorinated biphenyls were manufactured between the 1920s and 1971. It also includes a series of creeks and associated floodplain areas downstream of the plant.

The site encompasses both urban and rural areas. The urban portion is a mixture of residential and nonresidential areas, including a range of commercial and industrial properties. The rural portions are mostly agricultural and forest lands.
